If you have have moved into a new home that doesn't yet have any lawn or would like to replace your worn out lawn with new, gorgeous turf, you have come to the right place.

Natural Landscape and Irrigation has installed lawns for many years for customers of the West Linn and Greater Portland area and approaches every project with the utmost care and professionalism.

Customers typically either choose to have their new lawn seeded or to have sod laid down; there are advantages and disadvantages to both techniques (read this article about Seed vs. Sod Lawn Installation in order to know what is best for your particular situation).

With lawn seeding, this is typically how the process works:

• If you have an existing dead lawn that needs to be replaced, we will start by removing it with a sod cutter.
• We will determine how much topsoil you need and will typically rake and grade in ~3 in of fresh soil as a base.
• Depending on climate and area of landscape, we will select the appropriate grass seed variety.
• Starting fertilizer will be applied and the whole area will be dressed with compost to retain moisture.
• After the process is done, specific watering instructions will be given.

If you decide you want an instant lawn, and the area has proper sunlight, sod can also be installed. The base is often the same as seeding. Once the topsoil is graded and raked properly, we will install the sod, which will come from a local sod farmer. Oftentimes the sod will be cut from the farm one day and installed the very next day.
